Trish and Dave's Thank You Cards

Last November, Trish got married to Dave. I designed her shower invitations, her save the dates, her wedding invitations, and also, her wedding extras which have yet to be shown on this blog, but will be soon. :)  

And after all of this, Trish had me do some thank you cards for them to send out to their guests, using one of their beautiful wedding photos. 

These were like a postcard. The backs were just a blank gold color so they could write a thank you note.

I loved Trish and Dave's vintage style. We used it throughout each piece, ending with some touches of vintage glam on these thank you notes.

Amy Sayre Photography's Thank You Cards

I love postcards. Like, LOVE them. Every time I talk with someone about a fun side project (moving announcements/thank you cards/whatever), I'm always like, "have you considered a postcard?" 

Postcards are just so simple and easy. Write a message. Throw a stamp on it. Mail it. Done.

So when Amy - the best friend - came to me and asked if I could help her with a Thank You for the Referral card, I was giddy when she said she'd like it on a postcard. 

I helped Amy make over her website a while back now. We wanted to stick with the same theme to come up with these thank you cards. See, she'd been re-vamping her business for a while and it was really paying off. She was getting more and more referrals and as they came in, she wanted a way to say thank you to those who had sent those referrals her way. 

Enter this little postcard. 

When someone sends a referral to Amy Sayre Photography, Amy can easily fill out this postcard and stick it in the mail.

It's as easy as filling out an address and a couple of lines. Anyone who owns a business knows how important referrals are and how important it is to show your appreciation to the person who is responsible for them. The problem is when you have a small business and you're doing all of the work by yourself. Here's what happens with me:

Referral comes in.
I do a little celebratory dance of appreciation directed towards the person who sent the referral.
I go about my day.

But what if I had a postcard like Amy's that I could just send off to the person who sent the referral to let them know how much I appreciate them? My life would be easier and people would know they were appreciated.

And that's what Amy can do now - show her appreciation to all the people that have spread the word about her stellar photography skills. With a cute little postcard.

Amy now has in her hands a good amount of these postcards and I know she's already sent several out. She is such an inspiring business woman and I will be following her lead and designing my own referral postcards soon (I'm declaring this right now so I will actually knock this off the to-do list, where it has been for a good few months now. :/).

Jaime and Dan's Thank You/New Year's Postcards

It's the first blog post of 2013. 2013. Seriously? How has this happened? IT'S 2013. 

I do hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve. We spent the night ringing in the New Year with some of our best friends and their little daughter (our goddaughter), Kaylin. We did the same thing last year (minus the unborn child) and I'd just like to say this: if being in our pajamas by 9, playing Pinochle for a couple of hours, and then being in bed by 12:30 is wrong, I don't want to be right. Here's hoping that you spent your New Year's Eve doing whatever it is that you really wanted to do, too. 

But onto a fun New Year's project. 

You've already met Jaime a few times on this blog. Here, and here, to be exact. And you will see her again when I blog about the wedding extras I did for her wedding back in August. (Yes, August of 2012. I'M BEHIND, OK?!) 

Jaime wanted to do something fun for her wedding thank you cards, and since the timing happened to be right around the new year, she thought mixing their thank you cards with a new year's card might work. 

I think it did. :) 

Jaime didn't have her wedding photos back yet, but she had this one that was snapped on their wedding day. Instead of doing the traditional thank you card, we thought thank you postcards would be fun.

(I got all crafty with our Christmas tree this year, if you can't tell.)

The back was simple, with a little New Year's greeting so she wouldn't have to write that on every single thank you note.

I have to say, as much as I love opening up a letter that's tucked into an envelope, I love getting a fun little postcard in the mail. Hopefully her guests feel the same way. :)
